Killer Date

As the film begins one thing is made clear with Carlos Omar de Leon's KILLER DATE and that this is a well edited short that could play out with anyone.

A popular online blogger thinks he's going for his first online date thanks to a new dating app but this first insight into the world of online dating may well be his last.

From the opening credits to the mixing of the soundtrack, Leon has cleverly caught a very retro vibe in a modern subject. The casting do well to convey their motives and as the date evolves things turn sour very quickly.

The films closure may be painful for many of our male audience to with stand but the short falls down in either its ability to shock or depth to understand why the events unfold as they do.

Despite its shallow, one note twist, it would be interesting to understand the reasoning but then again, in 6 minutes would be difficult to call out, maybe in a follow up we could learn more about this and as an initial insight into Leon's creativity, KILLER DATE proves well.
